This new season introduces Chef May's brilliant new Gourmet Getaway, and off-the-beaten-path version of the famous 'Gourmet Trail'. Our rendition of the aforementioned tour of celebrated westcoast resorts and restaurants is unique in its differences. First, we invite guests to stay and dine exclusively with us - to become immersed in the wilderness food and wine experience - start to finish.
"From the moment you set foot on the floating resort at Quait Bay, you become part of the food chain, so to speak," says Chef May. Naturally meals will be the main attraction - the wine will be fine and dessert will be decadent. But in addition there will be an ever-changing menu of food-centred wilderness activities like foraging for wild mushrooms, fiddleheads and other local delicacies, or a visit to Wayne & Catherine Adams' floating herb garden around the bend in Freedom Cove. In fair seas, a scenic boat trip to the environmentally responsible and state-of-the-art new Catamaran salmon farms for an educational tour, might be in order.
