Cloud Day
4500ft above sea level, near the very top of Ursus Mountain, a remote alpine playground, we call Cloud Camp, awaits adventurous late-season day-trippers. A deep topaz blue-green alpine lake, inflatable kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, fly fishing gear, and other toys provide plenty of incentive for water play. The view from the top is nothing short of spectacular. Cloud Day experiences are weather dependent.
Alpine hikes, playing in the snow, photography, sky-high yoga, picnics, period-inspired gastro-adventure - all part of the Cloud Camp experience that changes with the seasons. Stay a half-day and return to the Outpost to ride horses or kayak, or stay out all day if you like. Your wilderness guide is yours for the day if you choose to stay and watch, glass in-hand, the sun setting over the Outpost with all of Clayoquot Sound unfurling beyond.
A la carte Cloud Day adventures at Ursus or other alpine locations are seasonal and weather dependent, so confirm availability in advance to avoid disappointment. Excursions may be reserved in advance, but cannot be confirmed until the day of departure. Includes return helicopter passage, experienced wilderness guide, gear, equipment, gourmet lunch, beverages.
